The following commemorative events will take place at the Australian War Memorial on Anzac Day (Thursday 25 April):

5.30 am: Dawn Service;

10.30 am: National Ceremony; and

4.55 pm: Last Post Ceremony.

Typically, thousands attend these events.

The War Memorial website advises of the following road closures:

Road Closures will be in effect from 2am

  • Traffic from Limestone Avenue diverts onto Treloar Crescent
  • Traffic from Fairbairn Avenue diverts onto Treloar Crescent
  • Anzac Parade closed from Constitution Avenue including the Blamey Crescent and Currong Street intersection
(Treloar Crescent is the road that goes behind the War Memorial.)

I have received the following advice from the Australian War Memorial about where it would be best to drop off passengers:

'You will be able to drop off passengers in the same place as taxis, outside the Administration Building. You will be directed on the day, however, access is via Treloar Crescent. Please ensure that your Uber sticker is displayed so that you can be easily identified on the day'.

Free bus services will run to and from the Memorial for both the Dawn Service and the National Ceremony. Bookings are required. See,-thursday-25-april-2019.
