Any unemployment benefits for WA drivers during corona virus outbreak?

When you applied for unemployment you should have applied for PUA, not regular. When you are applying on that form and it asks for your employer don't enter an employer. Continue on with the form until you get to where it asks about self employment or IC work. You will have to enter your earnings by quarter, which is a pain on the Lyft side (you'll see what I mean when you get there). At the end be sure to attach all of your Lyft and Uber (and whoever else's) 1099s. The hours you've worked don't matter for PUA. I know they have some informational video on their site about filling out the form. I didn't watch it so I can't really say if it's helpful. But since you are having trouble you might give it a whirl and see if that helps.
Shit is there a way to redo it???

Look at K-Pax's response mentioning a link. My initial application was before the state updated the system, so my first application was automatically ineligible (which I knew before I applied, and that story is earlier in this thread). I reapplied under PUA as soon as the system was updated, so there was no link for me. My experience was a bit different than yours would be, but the form should be the same.

Employment security department wordmark
From May 13-20, we’re increasing the calls we make and limiting the calls we receive.
From May 13 to May 20, please do not call the toll-free numbers with questions about your claim. This will allow our specialists to focus on outbound calling to resolve issues for those who have been waiting the longest.
For one week, we’re limiting inbound calls to customers who:
  • Cannot apply for unemployment or file a weekly claim online, or need a translator for help with their claim.
  • Have general questions about unemployment via our question hotline at 833-572-8400.
  • Need to report fraud via our special fraud hotline at 800-246-9763.

Operation 100%: ALL benefits to ALL eligible applicants
Limiting inbound calls for a week is part of Operation 100%
Our top priority is getting the claims resolved or paid for those who have been waiting in adjudication – which is about 7% of total applications. We’re also reaching out to those who have further action to take – like filing a weekly claim or applying for expanded benefits. Learn more about Operation 100% on our website.
We may be trying to reach you
If your claim is in adjudication, please be sure to answer your phone if you get a call from 800-318-6022 – it is us trying to reach you!
It's fraud investigation week at.the ESD.

Can anyone receive both benefits ? UI plus PUA? I have w2 job which qualify for $220 a week benefit .and I am also a driver qualify for $235 a week. So my question is can I get $220+$235+600? Maybe only $220+$600 or $235+$600?

Got a notice today saying ESD needs more information. That I need to respond by 5/22 or they will make a determination based on information they already have. I logged in and clicked on the link, got as far as seeing that the issue is "weekly claim reporting", specifically listing the first week that I claimed. (I filed for but wasn't paid for that week since I drove M-F and was determined to have excess income).

When I click on the issue, then click on "I have read and understand" - the next screen asks what date I want to start claiming, and then asks why I didn't file already. None of this makes sense, as I have filed for and been paid for each week to date. I just closed it out without trying to progress. Anyone else have this happen, or know what they want?

Interesting. I had something similar. I got what sounds like the same notice. When I clicked on the alert there was no "issue" for me to click on. I tried opening it again, and then again, with the same result. I decided to give it a rest and come back to it later. When I did the alert had completely disappeared from my dashboard. Pretty hard to give additional info when you don't know what the info is, and there is no alert. And it's not like you can call them, since they aren't taking calls this week (not that it matters, since you can't get through to them even if you do call). I tried sending them a message, but it just spun and spun. I have no idea whether or no it ever went through. So who knows.

You can tell they’re not accepting calls this week. Can’t get logged into the ESD site.

Received mail from ESD saying I need doctor to fill out paperwork stating reason why I need medical leave from work. When i filled out application I assumed covid was a medical reason to receive unemployment so i checked the medical box or whatever. What should I do now?

Use the message feature to reach out to them and write basically what you wrote here. Also, go and request a call back...the date will be in the future but don't worry, they are finally getting ahead of the curve and getting to those call backs much sooner. You can still claim back pay for whatever you missed due to this error.

So.... since ESD is punishing all the honest people because of a couple scammers by holding all our payments (seriously??).... anyone know how long? A bit annoyed they are doing this. I heard them mention it on the radio, but no official mention on the website, no letter, and they still haven’t looked into my income to re-adjust.

It's not just a couple scammers.

ESD is satanic.
It's not just a couple scammers.

That makes no @@@@ing difference. You do not stop paying legitimate claims because of fraud.

Would you appreciate it if your bank stopped your account and held your funds because of other fraudulent accounts?

IDENTITY and WEEKLY REPORTING?

I sent a message asking for clarification. Here's what I got back:

Answer the questions to the best of your ability. It is about the weeks that were transferred to the PUA claim. Simply state that you did file them on time.

So, I entered those dates, chose "other" for reason not filed, and in a subsequent field was able to explain that the weeks *had* been filed under the UI claim (which was denied) and were then transferred to the PUA claim.

Haven't gotten any messages at all. I'm getting the payouts at the minimum ammount (except for this week, which is being held up to punish me for what a few criminals are doing).

I had the same thing. I told them I did not file because the site said to wait until april 18 and I filed then. I also don't know why they suddenly asked for more info and gave me the same May 22 date but I sent them all the same docs I sent before. Now I get an alert telling me I need to apply for UI (Not the PUA) so I did also. I am getting confused and didn't get my weekly claim paid as usual.

So I just got done applying for unemployment and I received an email right after saying I'm not eligible because I didn't work x amount of hours. Attached is the photo.

Am I supposed to go and apply for PUA now?
getting declined for UI is a prelim, then you go directly into filing for for PUA. There is a PDF WITH INSTRUCTIONS, READ IT. Apply back to when you stopped working.

With ESD admitting today to losing 100s of millions to fraud, those of us who are still PENDING are going to be waiting quite a while for additional payments.

My deposit, 835.00 from last week just hit my account, two days later than usual, but I'm happy.
