Last week while waiting for an order I was talking to an Eats driver who's a single mom, and she was pretty upset about the effects the pay cuts are having on her ability to make ends meet. Most likely she receives food stamps and possibly other govt assistance. With the pay cuts, she's going to need more assistance than before, thanks to Dara and his gang.

BTW, bring back the previous photo of the crazy-looking guy you used to use. That picture is funny as shit and truly fits a gig driver.
Lol damn it took me a while to remember what picture that was. That’s a perfect example though. I remember choosing that crazy pic because that’s literally how I felt driving for UE. Then I just kind of got numb and became this current pic

A virtually limitless supply of new Third World immigrant replacement drivers means Uber can replace any driver who switches to the competition (who are also cutting driver pay).

The only way to truly get back at them is to get the media and govt involved (AB5, NYC, etc)

Only the govt has the power to force these companies to make major improvements in the treatment of their drivers.
I agree for the most part. I can recall telling you before how Uber basically shut me out and I was getting nothing except for maybe one ping per hour and long dropoffs. At one point I was just doing DD and GH and it was great until they cut rates a few months back.

I don't think anyone with power or influence (especially those who use or benefit from these services) will ever care about driver treatment, media, government, or otherwise.

I don't mean to be a dick here but I don't know what is worse: people ordering off GrubHub on Thanksgiving or someone delivering GrubHub on Thanksgiving.
You are absolutely right. You are being a dick without even trying.
Because you don't know what you don't know.
Like maybe I have triplet daughters thst just started college?
You know. Like three at the same time?
And my full time job is not enough?
So quit judging, and you won't be a dick!

The govt and media can be coaxed to "care". Take a look at California and New York.

As I pointed out in my previous post, the taxpayers are being forced to subsidize the terrible pay rates of these greedy companies, and that can get the attention politicians who are inclinded to be indifferent to the plight of the drivers.

I sent this as a PM but wanted to do a public mea culpa.

My comment wasn't so much about you in particular but commentary that people would be ordering and delivering on Thanksgiving. I firmly put my foot directly in my mouth.

I didn't mean anything negative towards you in particular. Kudos to you for doing what you need to for the family.

Hey, we all do and say things we probably would like to take back. No worries.
Thank you!

I don't want to unionize because I don't want to be an employee.

I want much higher pay rates and to be treated with respect.
Collective bargaining?

Collective bargaining?
ICs aren't allowed to collectively bargain, that would supposedly be a violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act.

If we could somehow collectively bargain without becoming employees that would be fine with me so long as the results are much higher pay rates and vastly better treatment of the drivers.

You know understanding what ppl are saying for many who took the Uber Chance has been well worth it.
Many disabled, people in complicated life situations and other stories are finding Uber Eats to have changed their outlook.
Also we see when faced with the issues of what is fair and wrong to do many have been much fairer then some thought they would be(too much yahoo comment browsing).
There is still much hope for us all.
❤❤❤
Much Too❤😁👍

The "Uber Chance"? Is that the new name for Uber's driver recruitment program?

Yeah, their outlook changed when they realized Uber was bending them over a chair with no lube.

I may be a yahoo but at least I can type a coherent sentence.

Yeah, it's called AB5.

Driving for the competition the best way to get back at UE if you are a good driver.

GH is really hit or miss here. I still turn it on and try to get lucky but I mostly do DD and PM

I refuse to accept anything under $5. Why would I do 4 $3.50 UE orders when I can make the same doing 2/sometimes 1 DD, GH, PM order? UE is slow here too I avg less than 2 orders/hour, way less ever since they launched Pro.
There REALLY should be a Minimum Fare !

I’ve been putting off looking for another side gig, but two weeks ago my market took another 25% hit, just a few months after the 25% hit we suffered when they gave us Pro. I’m now on the 2nd-job hunt and will be quitting Eats unless my post-Thanksgiving earnings improve.

I've backed off of UE lately simply because it's a pain in the ass. I really don't want to climb three flights of stairs in an anthill apartment complex to deliver a bucket of Chinese food. My knees are telling me it's just not worth it. Especially if it is cold and wet outside.

Lol at drivers who think they have to go to the door

Yesterday at lunch, I worked 90 min, did six trips, 3 at $3,1 at $3.12, 1 at $3.34 and 1 at $3.98. Made $34.44 or the equivalent of $19.68/hr. The reason ya'll aren't making money is you are passing over some money hoping for bigger money and then just sitting doing nothing. Seriously, ignore the pay out, and do the trips you would have done before, and skip the ones that you would have skipped before, then come back and tell us you are making less.
Your math doesn’t come close to adding up, simple math. You either got double your payout in tips or you are using Uber Math instead of real math.
