No joke. Thats mortifying. But so funny 🤣

Please when you finally find out what it is, report back. Unless it's gone or if you want to keep and train it as your pet.

In the house I grew up in there was a mouse/rat thing that haunted us for months. Put me on edge every day. Forgot what happend, maybe that was when I moved off to college.

We also had a cat stuck in the house for a few days and when it finally made its grand escape it started thrashing into the big glass door to the back yard. I bravely tried to open the backyard door and it clawed my foot. It finally left.
Well
I stopped in tonight
To see if it Left.
Or if i " Smelled" something . . .

As soon as i opened the front door
I could tell it was Still there And Still Alive !

I had shut all of the doors.
At the end of the hall
I have a New water heater in a box
( i never got around to installing yet)
On a dolly. ( warehouse style Living. Im Single . i can leave a 5 foot tall box on a dolly at the end of the hall . . .)

Well i look . . . and my WILD ANIMAL is atop it !
( it is also beneath the attic access)

Apparantly, it was trying That route to get out.
After wrecking living room & kitchen again.

It was a Large Possum !

I opened a can of old catfood.
Offered it a meal. No go.
Offered it water.
It wouldnt accept.
Talked to it a while till it quit showing teeth.

Then wheeled it out the front door on the water heater.

Still wouldnt take food or water.
Or get off the damn box !

Tilted box and it wouldnt jump.
Shook it off box when it was 2 feet above grass.
He took off for the woods.
Left food & water outside.
But he wont be back.

So he is alive & gone.
Now for cleanup & repairs.

I was thinking @Lissetti, but I know she's not feeling too well.
Maybe it was one of her friends:
How NOT to Keep Away from a Honey Badger's Teeth | Deadly ...'s Teeth | Deadly ...
They got teeth !
Possums arent so bright.
Dont see so good either.

Thats why i offer him Food & water before even trying to move dolly.

Cant believe i got lucky !
He was on top of something i could roll out the door.

I would have had hell removing him any other way.

Did not have to poke him or beat it with a stick.
Rolled him out.

My only other option
Was to try to force him into a 5 gallon bucket. He might have fit.
And try to keep him in there long enough to get to door.

I decided rolling heavy water heater was easier plan.

He seemed to enjoy the ride.
( more than being forced into a bucket im sure !
That would have been a hell of a fight !)

( would have felt better if it ate & drank. Its been trapped in my house a week or maybe 2. Wanted to send it off with a meal.)

Kitty just wants to cuddle. Give him a hug.

either fight or " play possum".
This was a big one.
He didnt give up on trying to get out.
He would have fought.

Didnt have to get aggressive with him or corner him.
Worked out " good enough" for the both of us.

I wasnt touching this thing.
He was at witts end trying to get out.

My neighbors probably called S.P.C.A. thinking i abandoned a cat or dog for weeks !

Tearing. Down blinds and wrecking my kitchen cabinets .

Who knows HOW long he was there before i discovered him !

A Raccoon would have been worse.
But would have figured out how to get out long ago.

And a wild cat . . . would definantly spring at you if it felt cornered.

I do not KNOW what it is !
It broke an antique depression glass bowl out of the kitchen cabinet today.
Hopefully it scrambled back into the hole it made falling through the ceiling.

Must weigh at least 20 pounds to have fallen through !

I have no idea WHAT KIND OF CLAWS & TEETH IT HAS.

BUT IT SURE IS PISSED OFF !

YET TOTALLY SILENT WHEN I COME IN.
BESIDES HUNKERING DOWN BEHIND THE COUCH.

It has caused a Lot of Damage.
Maybe you need to take a break from pizza delivery.
