I just became an Uber driver over the weekend, I've only done a few trips and made about a total of 70 dollars. I was told that if I made over 600$ I have to file 1099 form to the IRS, where do I get the form? What do I write on it? How do I submit it?
In Nevada State a State Business License (Corporation or LLC Filing) is required for Uber as a driver.
Uber classifies its drivers as “independent contractors”. Every year, Uber must file by law IRS Form 1099-MISC and/or 1099-K with the IRS and my state tax agency reporting how much Uber paid...
The IRS rules technically require a "Destination" for each line of the mileage log. I record my odometer when I start driving (go into driver mode) and when I stop (go out of driver mode). Usually I'm at home both times. What do you guys put for "Destination" in your mileage log?
This news article from Forbes claims that Millennials are the worst culprits!!!
“That’s going to raise a ton of money,” said Caroline Bruckner, managing director of American University’s Kogod Tax Policy Center in Washington. Billions of dollars in taxable income are probably going unreported every...
UBER may not want to do it so drivers don't realized the very low earning or loses per hour or per mile and:

Was checking my Driver Dashboard today and noticed that Uber has already posted a preliminary summary of our 1099-K and 1099-MISC tax forms !

As an Uber driver, I’m putting a ton of miles on my car and I need to claim as many as I can on my taxes. I started a thread asking for advice (see here) about the easiest way to track miles and got a bunch of suggestions. It seemed there was no consensus, and no one had really done a thorough...
So for quarterly tax prep my CPA is telling me the following:
46% of net earnings
15.3 % FICA
Having zero experience with taxes, is this remotely correct? I've read about 25-30% is what should be set aside for taxes. But nearly half? That seems way...

For anyone who's driving in a market with less than $1/mile rates (here's lookin' at you, Detroit!), we need to be honest with ourselves and accept the fact that we're just driving at a loss. If you look at it, we're really not much different than your local not-for-profit, charitable...
My girlfriend and myself financed a car in 2015. At the time, my credit was really bad so we decided to put only her on the bank loan (lower interest rate), and the bank held the title (until we pay it off). After we financed the car, she was put on the vehicle registration but she added me on...

Will use him for ever now!
