Of course. Currently a six-hour stay in an UberX is $54 per night. No walk of shame. Just key in next destination. #homejames

Is the heat map layer broken on partner app?

I have not. 11 rides netted almost $50 tonight b/w 10pm and 3am for tonight. This included a couple of XL fares. Late night car counts in Tigerland were down to 2-3 cars right at close and 2 cars downtown - no surge seen, rider or partner app. Even with one XL fare adjustment pending, that...

Open Letter to Uber BTR office re: Rates

Update: Bruce, Uber has closed their Baton Rouge office. I visited the Technology Center - the receptionist informed me that Uber had closed their office (they had a regular office presence in one of their conference rooms) and hadn't been in the Technology center for over a month. A flyer...

Is the heat map layer broken on partner app?

Coco, could be, but still odd not even to see random yellows or oranges. Also the app cautions that "rates are surging in your area" when you go to log off. There's not a peep on the map, and the rider app "pokes" yield no surge areas. And, no response from tech support yet...

    Sunday Nights In Baton Rouge

Coco, I personally find L'Auberge BR spotty for fares. Though those fares are usually good ones (since LBR is so far out from most points in the city). I get as much frequency if not more to Hollywood. Frequency: Hollywood > L'Auberge > Belle Fares ($$): LBR > H'wood > Belle Also, it has...

Open Letter to Uber BTR office re: Rates

To whom it may concern: Your "Winter Warm Up" rate cut is just wrong-headed. If you want to drum up demand in this market, Uber would be better served with better marketing to a lagging demographic, namely older riders (45+) with disposable income. I have only been driving for a few months...

    Rate cut in BR

Definitely confirmed. New agreement had to be ratified when I accessed the app this afternoon. Before Dec. 15 hire date, UberX commission remains 20%. After that hire date - 25%. UberXL and UberSelect remain at 28% commission regardless of hire date.

    Rate cut in BR

The section in the email that I really loved discussed the cited guaranteed rates that are ties to peak times for the most part. It has been my experience that most of us already receive that much per hour (if not more) at those times. Even if you factor in the discounts and use Uber's weekly...

    Inaugural Ball - BR

Not so much BS - there have been discussions of this on other threads... Without quantifying the heat maps, as I understand it, no color = no demand with or without driver supply; yellow = some demand with ample driver coverage, orange = demand approaches or equals the driver coverage, red =...

    Inaugural Ball - BR

Quick update: Inaugural ball dropoff locations are now three (two additional beside Costco / Celtic location): Istrouma Baptist Church (immediately across from Costco east of Airline) and Swaggart Ministries (Bluebonnet near Mall of LA). Verify as to which parking lot that your rider, who may...
