    The COVID-19 Coronavirus Thread

The nursing home issues didn't start the same day the COVID19 rolled into Canada. I've been reading about problems in nursing homes for about 2 decades now. But each provincial / municipal administration simply kicks the can down the road since they never seem to have the political will to do...

    The Humour Thread [COVID-19]

When I was 16, I jokingly dared my 17 y.o. girlfriend to carry me up a steep road on her back. She said: “OK, get on.” I said I was joking but she still insisted. She actually did carry me up to the top on her back. This was back in the early 80’s. Looooong before smartphones were invented, so...

    EATS-Only Driver Considering UberX

No. My car officially became too old for X in Toronto last year April. Whenever I tried to make the case to myself to go out and buy a new(er) car, I always end up shaking head and saying: ‘No. Not worth it.’ Heck: even doing EATS in an old beater ain’t worth it.

Hertz files for bankruptcy as Rental-Car demand vanishes !

@Speedy_Gonzales has an autographed picture of Xi Jinping on the bedside table. He kisses it every night before turning off the lights. His wife is jealous. (yawn) It’s a given that these cars are abused. No way I’m going to pay those prices for an ex-rental.

    RE-OPENING Ontario Discussion [COVID-19]

Yes: that would disperse them very quickly. However, don't think it would end at that. Once the gas clears, expect them to come back with a vengeance and determination to riot.

    Busy Saturday! [Covid-19]

That's a decent haul for 8.5 hours work these days; though in my time, that was par for the course on Saturday night if not higher. I would recommend that you not get used to it.

    RE-OPENING Ontario Discussion [COVID-19]

A law is enforceable when it's only a few people disobeying it. But once the number of people disobeying it goes beyond a critical mass, the law becomes unenforceable. Look at the pic of Trinity-Bellwoods again and imagine that you're a cop, or worse, an unarmed bylaw enforcement officer...

I can hardly wait for all the tell-all books due out in a few months. Yes: they all signed NDA’s, but that doesn’t mean they won’t write anonymously. Some might even drop by the forum using anon identities to dish some dirt.
