Restaurant losses

I hear on this site about drivers who are making pickups at restaurants. Sometimes they stage near them.

But in this post, I'm asking about what restaurants that you know of that have closed permanently, as a result of the pandemic and its associated forced closings. No, I don't want to hear about politics. Please save that for other places on the site.

The unfortunate news of permanent closings includes:

- Barry's Pizza, on Richmond, after 37 years. I suspect he's decided to retire.
- Bernie's Burger Bus (all of them). I'm not as concerned, even though there's one that is was walking distance from our house.

Others that you've heard of?

Here's a more comprehensive list of Corona Closures >>
That list actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

And in a couple of cases, I think they exaggerated it. Example:

- Yes, Treebeards is closing their Market Square location, and opening elsewhere. It's a loss, I agree. But the article didn't mention where else they have locations that are not affected.

This is the saddest to me. Yes, I agree Barry was going to retire. The last time I spoke to him (within the last six months) his mind was on his hill country property. He has had enough and this Covid mess has given him the catalyst to get out.

That being said, I have been a Barry's customer since it's inception. I remember it being in Windsor Plaza. I am going to miss it terribly. I am sure someone will purchase the property and try to open up some semblance of Barry's but there will never be another Barry's. It was a great run while it lasted.
