UberEATS....no orders

Hey all..I live in a popular area of Phoenix, AZ. There are 14 restaurants within minutes of each other that offer UberEATS. I live within a 5 minute drive to any of them, so I log on at home and wait for the first order, which is only a few minutes. I’m usually offered new orders while delivering an order, or at the very least, a few minutes after delivering an order.

A month or so ago that changed. I’m sitting at home or in my car with very few orders being offered to me. . While I’m used to delivering 2-3 orders an hour, I’m delivering 1, if I’m lucky. Tonight for instance, I’ve had three orders on almost three hours.

I’ve started asking restaurant employees if their Uber orders have decreased, and all of them say it’s the opposite. Their orders have increased. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m on a shit list. Dunno..

Anyone have any suggestions? Is Uber throttling back orders for those close to the restaurant?

You know how easy it was for you to sign up as a driver with Uber and start making money? Well, the same goes for the nearly 900,000 other Uber drivers in this country. There are 200,000 more drivers now than this same time last year and by this time next year there will be 1.4 million drivers. You will get less and less rides. Uber is the drug and ignorant drivers are the addicts.

There are a lot of teachers out there right now driving for Uber that weren't there about a month ago. With that said, the easiest way to find out whether or not Uber is mad at you would be to contact them and ask. The fact that you can still get on line suggests that they're not.

Was in the IHob a few days ago and talked to a millennial Eats driver. I asked him if he was staying busy and he said he was doing about 8 deliveries in 8hrs and was as happy as a pig in poo. Now I don't know the going rate but I'm assuming it's still crap. Is it safe to say, this goober is making about $40-50 bucks a day? WOW!! That's what you're up against in addition to all the teachers and students.

I'd be happy too with $40-$50 a day, so long as I could live for free with mommy and daddy. He's also probably using his parents car and gas card to Uber with.

Dammit, how come my last name couldn't be Rockefeller or Gates?

You sound upset that your full time gig can't work out anymore. All you do is drive people. I hate when the full timers talk smack to the part timers. Maybe 50$ driving only 50 miles a day works for that person. Not everyone wants to put a 1000 miles a week in 110 degree heat.

Probably doesn't have to drive more than 50 miles a day. Maybe chills with ac at the pad and doesnt have sit in the car for five hours straight. So there are some pros to doing eats.

I do a hell of a lot more then just drive people. I go back to my peeps house and roll the trash cans to and from the street if my peeps depart town before garbage day. I meet service personnel for my peeps and email pictures of services performed when they're out of town. I've dropped rental cars back off for my peeps. I've signed for packages and then forwarded to my peeps at their current place of residency. I've rented car seats when my peeps' grandchildren come into town. I've gone back to the airport and picked up golf clubs for my peeps when their clubs didn't make it on the flight. I do all this because my peeps don't mind paying for a premium service and they tip really really well.

Now go out and make your $.72/mile

If your going to drive for money, this is really the way to maximize your revenue. I only drive X/Lyft basic so in the summer I concentrate on airport rides with rematches from North Peoria (my home area), otherwise the driving in the summer isn't really worth it. Thankfully I don't have to rely on this income to pay the bills, but if I did have to I know where to get the rides. If I were relying on this for my main income I would go the ST5 route and take all the perks that come with it!

Might be somebody using one of those Brazilian boxes that attaches to a Samsung phone and gets all the orders. Talked about in the Ubereats forum
