    Thanks Fasten

Hey Jay. go @@@@ yourself. How about that? Telling you to @@@@ off is worth getting booted from this forum. Easy to talk shit when you're sitting behind your computer, eh? Big tough guy. Lets see what a tough guy you are in person. Yeah, I thought so.

    SXSW Pretty Underwhelming So Far...

I don't drive anymore but I got on the road and turned on my app (Lyft) for SXSW because its the only time I've ever found driving truly profitable. Last year I averaged $250 a day/$2500 during the festival. So far, I've only gone out twice (Thurs eve and Fri eve) averaged $7 per ride...

    Thanks Fasten

Screw Fasten. Despite the superior rates, I dumped them after a solid year of driving, finishing with around a 4.8. With a rating like that you'd think it was a lovefest. Instead, several times I got unprofessional texts from "support" that read like a 10th grader passing along gossip...

    NYE Bust

You're totally right, Roger. I worded that wrongly, its not losing traction. It's just losing traction for me lol. I'll admit I am probably not the smartest guy when it comes to mapping a good driving strategy. I rarely put any thought into it. There was a time I was able to clear enough to...

    NYE Bust

Wow Ziggy! Sounds about right. I did better with Fasten, too, though I stopped working with them for other reasons. The differential between 2015 and now is amazing to see.

    $2-4 Scheduled Pickups on Lyft

Last night I gave a ride to a guy who works in the Lyft office. He was pretty cool, and told me (about the scheduled pick up thing) "disregard it." He said, "ignore it completely, it doesn't work." He told me its a bust, as are most things Lyft rolls out initially. His advice is to wait a good...

    NYE Bust

Got on the road at 5:45 p.m. yesterday (NYE). Driving Lyft only. (I know, I know.) The roads were practically empty most of the night. Didn't get stuck in one traffic jam, even on I-35. By 10:00 I'd made $75. Less than $20/hr on NYE. I've done better than that on most normal Saturday nights...

Real work in austin to San antonio

    OMG LMAO

    I don't know how y'all drive nights.

And lets not forget the drunk pax demanding you take them to Wata-fkg-burger at 2:30 a.m., then arguing with you when you say "no" because "I'm paying you to sit and wait" and now you're "the only driver in the world who ever said no", and now you have an automatic *1* to bring your rating down.

    November 2017

Hey Jay, I've been averaging about $6.50 per ride, for about 2 rides per hour lately. Averaging around $10/hour. It's been grueling. When it gets like this, it's not really worth it. Better to wait for those peak events and holidays, imo.

    I don't know how y'all drive nights.

Actually, no, the money is not always better. It's a crapshoot, so you gamble and hope its a busy night with high surges and you get lucky with pax taking long trips. The other side of it is that you often get stuck in areas with a ton of drunk/stoned people who can't find your car, too drunk...

Chauffeur's permit required to continue with RideAustin

Same thing for me. Part timer, I went down there, and paid for the driver's report ($12), but changed my mind about coming back to take the exam and get the permit. I just walked out and never went back. I'm just sticking with Lyft. I hate losing the 25% but I still make more business (about...

    My ACL Game Plan

I drove those same hours on Fasten last night and didn't half of that. Despite incredible boosts all over the city. I snagged one $40 fare all weekend, the rest was not as much fun. Good for you I'm glad you did well!

    My ACL Game Plan

That's interesting TNC! I never thought of negotiating with pax about booze in the car. I just ask them to dump it (and watch my rating get dumped along with it). As for ACL, its 5 p.m. Sunday and I'm still $100 from my goal. I usually don't need to drive on Sundays. I heard that Ride Austin...

    My ACL Game Plan

Great attitude, Ms. Collette! I hope you kill it :-) I'm a bit different: if I have to be in my car non-stop, it's not a "gig", it's a full-time job. I don't think of this as a full-time job. If I can't make $20/hr driving between 25-35 hours a week, it falls into the category of "not worth...
