Hey guys, it's tough being the little guy with no leverage...
At the end of each ride, snapshot the screen with the route and trip cost details so you'll have proof you did a ride. This way, Uber can't say you did it differently or didn't do the trip. After all, they can delete any ride they want, and pay you whatever they determine is "fair" and we have very few rights to push back.
If you have ever disputed a ride or the amount you were paid for a ride, it is like pulling teeth.
You can't send them an image of the map since their "help" is almost as smart as a ripe grape. You instead have to read the image and key it in with your help request.
I took a fare on a 34 minute drive yesterday and was paid a grand total of $5.18 by our master Uber... Apparently, if you go on a long drive, using alternate navigation, it loses the GPS info and once I flipped back to the new Uber driver app, near the destination, it clocked a grand total of 0.13 miles. While waiting for another fare, I used the Uber rider app to estimate the same ride at $25-$30.
Once again, Uber isn't your friend and must not be trusted with your livelihood. When in doubt, they will always protect their interests. You are their beta testers.
I think the cause is the prolonged background operation of the Uber Driver app, since I was using Waze to navigate for their traffic information. It probably works OK on shorter trips.
